Femme Fierce at Leake Street Tunnel

My housemate found this manifestation in Leake Street Tunnal for the International women day.
It has nothing to do with what usually interests me so I think it was good to give it a go.
It didn't really help me for my FMP but I found this women so talented and what they created was just unbelievable. Colours and patterns inspired me.

Richard Deacon At Tate Britain

By going to Richard Deacon's exhibition you can easily see his interest in materials and their manipulations.
Every sculpture has a different approach and the way he creates change all the time.
We can also find a wide range of different materials.

Sculptures with wood were my favourite. I always loved wood and I try to use it as soon as possible, it is such a convenient material. And I just think it looks good everywhere.
Wood is warm and cozy. It also a natural component so it can be used everywhere without ruining the landscape.
It was interesting to see how he can manipulated it and create miscellaneous forms.

I also liked the steel sculpture. I found them simple and clean. Steel is a good material to use.
It can be used for structure or to support objects. It is also very pure so again it won't ruin the landscape.
I like the combination of wood and steel. I will consider this materials for my FMP

East London Parks

Now I have found a general location for my FMP (London Borough of Hackney) I need to focus on a more precise area, maybe a park where I can set up my structure.
It needs to be easy to access and big enough to welcome any kind of architecture.
I went around this 3 East London Park :

Allen Park in Shoreditch

Haggerston Park

London Fields

All of them are located near overground stations, even if London Fields is a bit apart.
The most interesting for me is Haggerston Park. Here are all its facilities :
-Children's play area
- Basket ball
-Athletics track (seasonal)
-BMX cycle track
-Multi-use games area
-Ping Pong table
-Hackney City Farm
-Toilets
-Dog walking area
-Grass area and pond.

It is also close to lots of trains/underground/overground station :
Hoxton (overground)
Shoreditch High Street (overground)
haggerston (overground)
Cambridge Heath (train)
Bethnal Green (Tube + train)
London Fields (train)

Haggerston Park is such a wild park. There is only grass area and some playgrounds for young people. It can totally welcome a new structure.
I think about creating a wooden pop up / covered market, which main activity will be flowers (It will be like a second part of Columbia Road Flower Market, so it will be less packed on Sunday morning, and more people will be able to enjoy the area) but we will sell food and drinks too. There will be a little café, like Lily Vanilli (or maybe relocated Lili Vanilli here because it needs somewhere with more space ? We know that the biggest issue was the lack of sitting areas) and concerts venues for the local musicians to perform while people are enjoying the market.

I think now I found my idea and my location. I need to do more research for design idea and floor plan. I also have to do some research within the local idea to see if a project like that would be feasible.

ART 14

It was surprised to discover such a big art event while I was in London. I was lucky to have tickets and I am glad I went to the exhibition because it was a great source of inspiration.
There were galleries from all around the world, with different artists.
My favourite part was the installation bit but I also love the numerous photographs everywhere.
I think I will come back every time I can be in London at this period of the year, because it was the best art show I've ever been to. It was so big and varied.

As usual I've been inspired by colours and textures. My favourite artworks were the ones with bright colours and a crazy twist. I like when things are different from the others, when you can feel craziness of the artists. Art is a way to dream, to travel and relax. I think it is an amazing way of expression.
I will definitely bring a twist of magic and fantasy into my FMP.
With all the places I've been too at the moment, I always come back to the point that I need colours to love something. It just catches my eyes easily.

FMP > Colours, crazy twist, different materials
